Since its introduction in 1973, Mitsubishi Lancer has been one of the most well patronized car variants in the compact segment. With over 9 generations of development and 6 million units sold between 1973 and 2008, Lancer is one vehicle that drivers celebrate and happily use. It was so well-loved that many of us were really shocked when it was announced last year that the model’s production will be discontinued.

Spoiler Alert: We like Lancer because of nostalgia. We all grew up knowing that the model was the closest thing that can bring us back to the days when we fancy ourselves with the thought of participating in the World Rally Championship. The earlier variants sported the same suspension design of the racecars we grew up watching- and we have to admit that owning just one is a great feeling. And since a lot of car enthusiasts are suckers for customizable cars, this model is certainly appealing as it is customizable.
